| SHAMPOOS Shampoos and the lather they create cannot damage hair. As long as you use the correct one prescribed for your particular hair type, they are the good guy that keep both your hair and scalp clean and fresh. Look for a non-alkaline product to help protect your hair while washing. Be sure to apply only to thoroughly-wet hair and to rinse well after lathering. Use your fingertips to gently massage the shampoo into a lather on your scalp as you gently remove excess oils and dead skin cells. Then smooth the shampoo through the length of your hair. Don't rub the hair shaft harshly or over-manipulate it's not necessary and you may damage the hair cuticle. Always rinse with warm, not hot or cold, water. To preserve the look of braids or weaves through many shampoos, let the water cascade over them without any rubbing. While most people shampoo at least three times a week, it's a very personal thing. Wash frequency depends upon the dryness of your scalp. You might want to experiment to see if either adding or eliminating a wash-a-week leads to easier-to-manage hair. Volumising shampoos are light and especially for fine or limp hair. Gentle cleansing agents in conjunction with special vitamin complex promotes added body, whilst providing a light conditioning effect without over burdening the hair. Rinse thoroughly. Anti-dandruff shampoo controls and regulates persistant dandruff conditions. The special agents rid the scalp of flakes, and helps to regulate the moisture balance of the hair and scalp. Be careful when using on coloured or permed hair as it could lighten the colour or relax the perm. Rinse out thoroughly. Moisturising shampoos can be used for dry and very porous hair types. Gently cleanses the hair structure, providing added care from roots to tips. Regular use helps to promote increased suppleness and shine - ideal for use after perming or colouring. |
